DECEMBER 23
Well technically it is the 23rd, only cause it is 1am!! It is so close to Christmas and that is so wonderful. I am getting a bit excited now, this year I just haven't been feeling as Christmasy so now it is coming and I think that because I have to work too, right up and including Christmas eve, but I do not mind. Costco has been absolutly CRAZY I can't imagine working in a retail place!!! Well I got my Dad's gift today and have to get my brothers tomorrow. I did leave it to the last minute but I knew what I was getting I just never had the time to go and get it, now I do not have much choice but to MAKE the time to go and get it. Well that is all I am going to write maybe till the New Year but we will see so for now I am signing off....I pray that you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!!

Okay so here the other pictures that I wanted up. The first on is one of my friends that had 2 boys in the same project and this was the best picture ever I think of the together. The next one it Emerson (the clown and translator) and our fearless leader Karen. The other pictures is one of our whole team and the other having lunch at the Compassion headquaters in Nicaragua. Very interesting!!!

Well I decided to put up a few more pictures on here. I can't fit them all on but will add more a
different way. So as you can see me with my little Gabriela, me with a parrot, a few pictures of
kids, my friend with her little girl that she sponsored when she was down there and the very top
picture is one of the guys on our team (in the middle) with our 5 translators from left to right:
Emerson, Vanessa, Scarlette, (Darwin) Virna, and Flor. They are all SOOOOOO AMAZING and
I LOVED each and everyone of them!! So yeah that is about it I will post this and then add some
other photos too. The are just a couple more that I want to put on here.

DECEMBER 5
So yeah, in my last blog I said that a lady from work quite and I was a little frazzled, WELL I was supposed to have had yesterday and today off and the other girl working got sick and so I have been working since last wednesday and work up till friday (non-inclusive) so waht is that 8-9 days in a row. I figued that at the end of my pay period though I will have scooped up 60+ hours in 2 weeks!! That'll be nice but I hope not to do that to often!!I do not know how some people do that all the time!!! YIKES!! Anyways, I have a really AWESOME friend that I LOVE talking to and today I was talking to her about alot of stuff that went on in her life and I don't know what it is about people who have had a hard life and have come to Christ it is just so amazing to hear the love and understanding that she has. I mean I have been a christian almost my whole life and I am humbled by her and just love her all the more!! I just LOVE her sooo much! Well not much else exciting going on yet just wait a couple of days though, my life is like Alberta weather wait 5 minutes and you can pretty much guarantee (sp?) that it will change, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. Either way it is ALWAYS an adventure!! Talk again soon!!

DECEMBER 2
Almost the New Year already!! Can you believe it!! I sure can't. And it is almost Christmas, it doesn't even feel like Christmas to me. I need to have someone to come and listen to Christmas music (Ricky Martin anyone=Þ) with me and have a cup of CHAAAIII!! (Right Char!!) Anyways I am having a really hard time getting into the christmas spirit this year and the day is drawing closer as we speak! YIKES!!! Well life has been UNBELIEVABLY busy for me lately. One of the ladies at work just quit and so now the other 3 of us have to fill in her shifts which I do not really mind but, because it is getting so busy I do feel quite frazzled at times, but will not complaine as I will be getting paid well!! Which is good to pay off the loans I have and the money that I owe to a few people. It will be feel really good to be free of debts for the first time in my life that it will actually matter!!
OKAY so here is my plea.....You all know that I am an Avocate for Compassion, I would like you all to consider sponsoring a child this year PLEASE!!! Even if you have one can you consider sponsoring another one? Can you tell EVERYONE you know about considering sponsoring a child? I NEED to see children sponsored I am trying so hard to think of ways to appeal for the kids and have an idea for my church but need to talk to a few people in authority first. Does anyone know of any groups of people or musical artists that would like to be with Compassion. I have one that I am working on still!! PLEASE if you know me even a little my heart is FILLED beyond capacity of LOVE for these children and would sponsor untill it would be unrealistic for me to sponsor children so the next best thing right now is to PLEAD with all that I know. Check out the website ( www.compassion.ca ) or if you live close enough to me talk to me as I am ALWAYS carrying kid packs with me. Okay I am done now....
Well now I do not have anything more to say so I will sign off for yet another day!! ADIOS AMIGOS.....

NOVEMBER 27
I went down to a little town called High River this weekend to visit a friend of mine that went to Nicaragua with me and just hung out for the weekend. It was a lot of fun though VERY cold!! I don't have to work till wednesday so that is ggod. I am going to a Christmas Gala with a lady singer named Debbie Fortnum, she is really neat from the the one time that I have seen her before. I am excited about that. It is happening tomorrow night so I hope that the weather is okay and that the roads do not get any worse.
I have a friend that found a website for me with a contact in Nicaragua that are starting an orphanage down there and so I have been in contact with them, and am waiting to hear back of what and when and that kind of stuff. I am excited as I still REALLY want to go back to Nicaragua. And still believe that is where God is leading me at this point, so I am going to persue this right now until either I am there or God changes my direction.
It is so BLASTED cold here right now, I would go just about anywhere that is warmer!! I do not think that any place should be at the temperature we are at. With the wind chill it is said to be -33C!!! YIKES!!! I even feel bad for the animals that have to stay out in this weather. Well that's about it for now.

NOVEMBER 17
When I think only a couple of days have past since I wrote in and then I look and find out it has been almost a week that is CRAZY!! Just goes to show how busy life can get!! I have been getting up and going to work by 5 AM since tuesday and tomorrow (saturday is my last early morning shift!! I hope that I will never get one EVER again but I have a feeling that I will and you better believe that I will be trying to switch with someone!! I wasn't really cranky except for a little bit yesterday when things were just not coming together like I though they should be=) I think that just cause my body was not used to the hours and that sort of thing is why, because I was getting frustrated at things that maybe I wouldn't normally be getting frustrated at. So whatever, it is over now and I only have one more shift!! YEAH!!! I work till 1 30 then I will probably come home for a quick snooze and then I have to go to church and do power point...incase anyone is not doing anything saturday night you can go online and watch our church service live at 7 pm.... you can alson watch at 9 30 and 11 15 but I think that between those times otheres ae already at church. The website for our church is www.spac.ab.ca and then I stand at our missions botth for a little while after that. I think I will be pretty tired after that, but may end up going out anyways, Then on sunday I think that I will go to a different church then mine and where a couple of my friends go. Then I am going for lunch with one of my friends and then who knows what the rest of my day will be like. THEN next weekend I get to go visit a friend of mine that went to Nicaragua with me and I am SOOOOOOOOO excited about that I can hardly wait!!! I pray that the weather is good enough for me to go down as I will be driving and do not need it to snow or sleet, or have icy roads!! I LOVE just being alive sometimes, yeah, yeah, we all have our bad days but for the most part isn't it fun to make friends, talk with people, go to church, hang out, grow up, mature, learn. Sorry does that sound weird? Whatever!! I think it is great that God created us and that we can talk and learn with and about him as well!! YEAH!! Well I must go to bed now to finsh my week of work. Thanks for reading!! I want to leave with a verse that we had in Bible study this last week, it comes from the book of Colossians chapter 2 vs 6-10
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to live in obedience to him. Let your roots grow down into him and draw nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done.Don't let anyone lead you astray with empty philosophy, and high sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the evil powers of this world, and not from Christ. For in Christ the fullness of God lives in a human body, and you are complete through your union with Christ. He is the Lord over every ruler and authority in the universe.

NOVEMBER 13
Wow!! I can't believe how fast the days are going for me. Today is monday and I do not have to work. I went out for lunch with a friend and have just returned. I am not happy at all about this next week of work. They want to train me on mornings, meaning to count in all the tills and that sort of thing, that is not the problem the problem is that I have to be AT work at 5 AM!!! And those of you who know me know that I do not do mornings very well at all and I am actually quite mad that I have to do this and not looking forward to it at all!! I wish that I could call in sick because I would but... I am not going to.
Can you all belive this SNOW? (those of you who live here or near Edmonton!!) Those of you who don't we are supposed to have 10cm of snow by the end of today but I have a feeling we will get a lot more than that if it keeps coming down like it is!! I actually LOVE the snow it is the cold that I can not handle very well. I HATE being cold!! I would much rather be hot and sweaty and sticky than in the deep freeze that can come sometimes with the snow. If I get a good picture I will post one up.
I STILL can not seem to get my Nicaragua out of my head and not that I want to be I am just not sure what I need to do with it. I don't ever want to forget, but.......do not know what to do right now with all that I am feeling and what I want to do. I miss Nicaragua more than anything right now and have since I left. signing off for now.

NOVEMBER 7
This picture is of my friend and one of our translators, her name is Scarlette and myself and my little girl Gabriela.
Well, day 5 and I STILL am feeling very out of place and thinking of ways to get back down to Nicaragua and what I would do down there. I just really want to go down there and come back to visit here not just visit there. Or maybe I just do not know what I am thinking yet, maybe I need more time. I am going to email a missonary friend of mine and hopefully talk to her for a bit, she what she has to say and maybe she can give me ideas or at least help with what I should do and decions that I have to make. Starting next week, I am going to be trained in the mornings at Costco which means I have to be there at 6 am BLECH!! If any of you know me you know how much I LOVE mornings!! (heavy sarchasim!)

NOVEMBER 5
HOLA!!
Well, 3 days back and still feeling like I am not here. I have dreamt about Nicaragua and being there the last 3 nights only to wake up here and having my heart sink. I want to be back there so bad. A couple of the translators that we had while down there have said that if and when I go back there I can stay with them. That will be so much fun as one of them is just a year younger than me, her name is Scarlette, and she said that she would show me around and we'll hang out and I look so forward to that. The other girl that said I could stay with her is a very beautiful lady. Her name is Virna, she is a little quiet and has a sweet and gentle spirit and I get along with her well. I LOVED all my translators though. Ther was only one guy his name was Emmerson anbd was so AWESOME!! He was very, very smart, and very funny and we all LOVED him so much. Flor was the one who set EVERYTHING up for our team, she planned where we would go and where we would eat and she was so great. And last but certainly not least there is Vanessa, she is so cool too and I knew her from last year as well, she is really a wonderful girl too. Well, I miss being in my team and talking and laughing with the girls that I got to know. And I miss being in the warmth of Nicaragua and playing with the kids and getting to know them and interacting with them. I just miss everything soooo much. Anyways I am unsure where as to waht God wants me to do but I am hoping that I will know soon as I am really kind of confuse about some thing since coming back too. I am gonna go for now but feel free to give me a call if you want to know more or email me!! Hasta luego.

NOVEMBER 3
I'MMM BAAAAACCKK!!!! It has been an extremely busy and draining week but I would do it all over again if given the chance! I have seen sooo much and felt sooo much and CRIED soo much in this last week. I have decided that I would LOVE to live down there but I am not sure what I would do yet as I can not technically work for Compassion because they only hire nationals. But I became close to a few of our translators and 2 of them have offered their place to me if (when) I go back down there!! That is so exciting. So I really did have a good time though and will try and get some pictures up as soon as I get them. I got to see my sweet Gabriela again and she was as sweet as ever and I got to go see her home which was so hard but the thing that disapointed me was that I did not get to see her project but to spend time with her mom and meet her little brother that was so great!! I just got back to Calgary last night and back to Shewood Park this morning, so I am little tired mostly from travelling because Nicaragua is only an hor behind us so it's not like I have jet leg. I need to sign off for now.

OCTOBER 24
Well Kids!! I leave in about 32 hours to travel to Nicaragua!! Please if you remember, pray for me. I am feeling a little different about this trip than I have been on past trips so I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing but..... God is going with me and that is all that really matters right!! It is now 20 after 10 at night and I still have to go home and finish packing and clean out my car so I have a lot to do before I go so I must make this short, but will try and post photos and write again when I return!! Have a GREAT week while I am gone!!

I work a lot and almost every weekend I am doing something. Just with in this next week I am going to be gone pretty much all evenings. I had a study that I went to last night, (tuesday) plus I had buddy break in the morning, tonight I had Bible study as well as buddy break again and out for coffee with someone in the afternoon as well as evening right before bible study, tomorrow I am going out for lunch with someone and then working Friday I am going to Blessings to be an ADVOCATE for Compassion from 2-6 then at 7 out to a Lianna Klassen concert, saturday and sunday is the long weekend and I work both days!! Plus on top of that I have some relatives coming up that I do not like very much and so that in itself is going to be hard to be nice! Then next weekend I am not doing anything but the following weekend I am setting up a booth for Compassion at my church and will be there all weekend then the following thursday I will be flying to Nicaragua untill the 2 of November!! SEPTEMBER 11
So I started my Vault position today at COSTCO and I think that it will be fun! All I do pretty much all day is count money, and holy moley you should see how much money comes through in a day!! So it should be interesting. It was easy today cause there are 2 of us in there but, starting probably next week I will be by myself! I think that it should be okay though. I think that I will be less tired too, doing this job.
Our church kick off was this weekend too and that was a lot of fun, we have sooo many great things going on this year some that have been around for a while and others that are just starting this year. I am excited to be taking a budget course on tuesday evenings, cause I am not very good with my money =Þ As much as I LOVE doing things at my church I think that I will have to not do as much but ask me about it as the year progresses as I may have taken on a few other things!! I go to Nicaragua in about 6 weeks too and I am SUPER excited about that! I get to see Gabriela again and I can hardly wait. I feel so blessed that I get to see my little girl 2x where as some people do not even get to see their child at all.
Gotta go for now....

SEPTEMBER 5
Well it has been a CRAZY busy last couple of weeks. I now have permanent work at Costco mind you I will now be in the vault counting money, a little boring maybe but I think easy. I was in the process of looking for another place to live but found out last night that my Dad and bro are going to buy a condo and he and I are going to stay in it. I am going to Nicaragua again. I leave October 26 and return the 2 of November.
Oh man!! 2 nights ago I was with a friend and we were travelling on yellowhead, we were going to go out for supper and just past the 97 th street overpass I blew a tire on my car. I was so freaked out I have never done that before nor have I ever been in a car that it happened to. So needless to say I did cry a little just cause it scared me bit. I am glad that it happened here though and say on my way to Calgary or something!! Like I told my friend that I was with, life for me is NEVER boring!! Well that is all I am going to write but I will try to be a bit better now at keeping updates!

AUGUST 23
Man time flies by sooo fast!! I was housitting for about a week and a half and returned yesterdayor the day before as well as my parents and sister went to Florida for 2 weeks and so I was semi hous sitting for them as well. My brother is here too but works during the day. Anyways that is too long of a story in itself so I will not bother with it. I went out for supper with a friend tonight and that was fun, I do not get to talk with her very often other than to sya hey how is your day/week I am praying for you kind of deal. So it was nice to have adrink and supper with her. I am still waiting to hear back from costco and really nervous because if I do not get either of the positions I applied for what am I going to do? I honestly do not know!! If you think about it please pray for me in that I will either get this job or if not that God will direct me in the right way to go from here. I am writing this way to late and so therefore can not think very well so I am not going to write anythign else because I must go to bed! Good night all!!

AUGUST 16
Is it wrong to give up on your friends? It makes me really sad to but lately I have had about 3 people that I just want to give up on because, I have been hurt by them or I am just plain frustrated with them. They all are just not very reliable and I feel that I can not trust them with things I say or take them at their word because they always fall back on it. For me that is terribly hurtful in that one of my love languages is time and when people say that they will go somewhere or do somethig with me or for me then I trust that they will follow through with that. And when it falls through time and time again, that is when I just want to give up on them!! I am just confused by what I should do if anything. Well, I no longer really email or call them now because it is soooo hard to have a one way friendship, when I do not get return emails or phone calls. I do not think that I am a needy friend but in order to be friends I think that you do need to spend SOME time together even if it is just to say hi and see how things are going. I try and do that but when I get no answer I try a few more times then end up stopping because like I said it to hard to have a one way friendship! I gues from now on I should just focus on the friends that do care about either spending time with me or at least staying in contact by emailing or calling or trying to arrange coffee or time together. I also understand that schedules can be busy, but I also feel strongly about making time and spending time with friends. That is all my venting for tonight.
Work is going well for me, I have to put in cover letters for permenant positions at Costco so I hope that I get what I want if not I do not really know what I will do. I have thought many times about moving to Calgary but am not to sure how well that will go over as I would find it TERRIBLY hard to step away from the church. I have done so much and poued so much of my life into it, I will be really sad to have to leave it. Though I do know that someday I will have to leave it. Life in general seems to get busier and busier as I get older and that is hard on my whole being, heart, mind, soul. Yet God sees me through and the times that I get stressed out the most it is in that time that He ALWAYS comes to my rescue in some way shape or form! I am sooo glad that I am a Christian, as cliche as that sounds I am truly thankful for GOD!!signing off for another day.....

We got to talk and laugh and cry and just hang out it was the best. Then on saturday evening I got to talk to a friend of mine that I haven't actually been able to sit and talk to just mostly say hi how are ya in passing, so it was really good to connect with her and she is just someone really dear to my heart right now. Then sunday morning I went to Red Deer and spent time with one of my other good friends and her husband and her sister. Then I came home monday evening and I have to go back to work and the real world tomorrow =Þ I get to house sit for the next couple of weeks starting the 11th so that will be fun too. Not much else to report at this time, I have been keeping busy and loving life and where I am at. I am still hoping that I can go to Nicaragua at the end of october but have yet to find out what is happening from Compassions end of things. I am hoping that I can do the Africa thing in March as well but that is a ways off for now and I am not to worried about it yet.

Nothing to exciting to write tonight just want to write a verse from James.
James 1:5&6
"If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants you to do-ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, He will not resent your asking. But when you ask Him, be sure you really expect Him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a waveof the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

Also JULY 26
Just a replay of a good song and a good thing to remember that when things are not going your or the way YOU think they should go!! You have to CHOOSE to sing Halelujah!!
Hallelujah
Who can hold the stars and my weary heart? Who can see everything? I've fallen so hard, sometimes I feel so far, but not beyond Your reach. I could climb a mountain, swim the ocean, or do anything, but it's when You hold me that I start unfolding, and all that I can say is
Chorus
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
whatever's in front of me help to sing Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
whatever's in front of me help to sing Hallelujah
I'll chose to sing Hallelujah
The same sun that rises over castles and welcomes the day, spills over buildings into the streets where orphans play and only You can see the good in broken things, You took my heart of stone and You made it home, and set this prisoner free
Chorus
JULY 26
Have you ever had plans to do something with someone only for them to cancel about an hour before it is going to happen. That is one thing that hurts me the most, I would much rather the person tell you that it is not going to work out or even if they say they don't want to or don't want to with me!! I find that easier to swallow then to be ditched last minute, cause usually they did not want to do it in the first place!! Sorry just a little venting! I am okay nowÞ
I have to get blood taken tomorrow and I really do not want to but need to for an appointment that I have. Then I will be visiting with one of my friends who has 2 little girls. This friend I lived with for my grade 12 year because my parents had move up here that year and I did not want to start a new school my graduating year! Anyways I haven't seen her in quite a while so I am pretty excited to do something with her and her BEAUTIFUL girls they are 4 and 2. If it is nice we are going to a park, if not I will go over there and just hang out for a bit. then I do not really have any plans so not sure what I'll do yet. I got my car fixed today they put in new spark plugs and something else that I do not remember and now I think my car is running really well so I am happy so far, plus I am going to Calgary on the long weekend so I had to get it looked at, as to not be stranded on the hiway!! Well, not to much other exciting stuff, to my praying friend out there, without giving to much info can I ask you to pray really hard for one of my friends. She is in a really tough spot right now and has been for the past couple of years and it seems to be just getting rougher and rougher and I do not know what to do, I pray for her soooo much and I just LOVE her so much that I really do not know what to do with her right now, thanks. Anyways It is late writing this one and I have to get up early so I will sign off for now!

JULY 25
Incase you all do not know my PASSIONS are kids and missions, that is why I am an advocate for Compassion Canada. I was watching a video the other day and it had Luis Palau talking about sponsering children through Compassion, one of the things he said is " Anyone can rescue a child but only Jesus can save a child" That is one of the major differences between Compassion and other organizations, we give ALL our children to hear about Jesus. ALL our work is through evangelical churches in the country and ALL the staff are nationals so they know the language the culture and what kinds of things are acceptable or not. I am hoping to go back to Nicaragua this year with Compassion and I have already seen how they work and the children and the churches and the schools etc, and I LOVE what I see, if you are more into the financial side of it they will open their books for you and show you where every penny is or has been spent. All I want is for the children to have safe and well established people to guide them in life. I guess that is all I have to say right now about that, not really sure why I wrote on Compassion but that is what I am about tonight I guess!!

JULY 24
Well the weekend is over and it is back to work for me. I enjoy being at work I just do not like getting there for some reason. I was saying to my mom earlier today that I could easily not work for my life just do volunteer stuff, but do not have the funds, she told me that I will just have to find or marry a philanthropist (sp?) I think that would be good. I would use the money to travel to the ends of the earth and so mother Teresa things, I would LOVE to do that, but alas I believe that is not in my future that I can see, because sadly I do not know any philanthropists!! Anyways, I have to go to work now so need to sign off.

JULY 18
Well, I get this weekend off. This is goos for me as I really miss being at church, I am doing power point for all 3 services this weekend and I am really excited about it! I also get to be working with Cindy who is our worship arts director for the weekend and I absolutly LOVE her!! So work is keeping me busy, I have worked every night since thursday and I work untill friday, so needless to say I will be thankful for the weekend off. I have the travel bug so bad that I am trying to figure out the best and fastest way to make the most money and get out of here, as for what I would do and where I would go is unknow to me right now, as I have said in one of my other blogs, the ladies at the church are planning a trip to Kenya but not until March, I feel like I can not wait that long. I have an opportunity to go back to Nicaragua though at the end of October for a week and would really like to do that, but I am not sure where I will be financially at the point either. I am willing to save but am a little scared of what will happen if I do not get enough funds. I guess I will just have to do something else with them. Well we'll see. I am praying about but am having a hard time decifering between what I think God's will is and if He want's me to go or not.
My brother got his motorcycle stolen right off our driveway last night. We had 4 other vehicles around it to and we live at the end of a cul de sac and is not really that easy to get to so someone had to have been planning to tak it and followed him in or watched him other times. I hope that he gets it back as he has barely had it a month and was really excited about it. that's it for now folks, talk to you all later!!

JULY 14
I have been thinking lately that there is so much stupidness and corruption and deciept and things that block us from what is right and pure and noble and hinders us from hearing the voice of God Himeself who wants so badly to tell us things and the wonderful amazing thing He wants to use us for. Then when things do not go our way, and when we think that He is taking to long to do things for us, we have the audacity to be mad at Him when the reason why we are in the situation is we are in, is usually OUR fault in the first place. I can honestly say that I have never been mad at God, now I am not saying that I am perfect in any way, it's just that I have figured that I have absolutly no reason to be mad at God. He has ALWAYS been good to me even though a lot of time I have been stupid and made bad decisions and not prayed about things just did them my own way, or just been in rotten situations. I can say though that I have been confused by God, upset at situations that I have gotten in, and wondered why I have been allowed to stay in them so long. Then I try and figure out what God is trying to tell me or if it is in the past what lesson am I supposed to take from it, maybe I am supposed to meet someone or influence someone, or go through it to help someone else in the future by the lessons I ahve learned, who knows. In any case I have written down this song By Bethany Dillon, that I always hear the chorus ring in my ears when I am not wanting to be in that place or time and to just remember to say thank you for the things and people I do have (Phillipians 2:14 "DO EVERYTHING WITHOUT COMPLAINING OR ARGUING,") and think on things that are good (Phillipians 4:8 "FINALLY, BROTHERS, WHATEVER IS TRUE, WHATEVER IS NOBLE, WHATEVER IS RIGHT, WHATEVER PURE, WHATEVER IS LOVELY, WHATEVER IS ADMIRABLE--IF ANYTHING IS EXCELLRNT OR PRAISEWORTHY--THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS").
Chorus

JUNE 26
So yeah, I was coming out of work tonight and was just sooooo happy. Has that ever happened to you? It wasn't a particularly good day but it was definately not a bad day, I was just happy. It was really hot today and I LOVED it and I could not tell you really why I was so happy, I just am. I am just content in where I am and what God is doing with me and through me and the things that I am learning. Also the so many wonderful and encouraging friends that God has placed in my life and the blessings that come along with each one of them! right now I do not feel like life could get any better, but God has great and wonderful things planned for me too and I can not wait to see where He leads next!
Proverbs 15: 13 and 15
13 A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day. 15 A miserable heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song.

JUNE 22
It has been sooo long sice I have written here! Sorry to all who actually read this. I have been wanting to write a profound post, but every time I am on the computer all my stuff I want to put is upstairs or when I think of it while I am upstairs, it is usually late at night and I am in bed! So, work has been keeping me really busy and as of monday all the Costcos (only in ALBERTA) are raising their starting wage to 12.25 for front end people and I can't remeber how much for cashiers. Anyone interested? (ha ha)
Well, church has pretty much been put on hold for me too, now that I have to work weekends, this is really sad for me as I practically live at church before and I will really miss it. I do get to go every once in a while not usually for a whole service though. I have just recently become an official member of my church too!! I think that is exciting yet, our church is going through so much and I do not agree with some of the move that they have made as far as staffing ministries goes, but what can I do? NOTHING! Well, not for now anyways. I must sign off for tonight.

JUNE 14
HOLA! Well tonight was my second last night of spanish. I know I did not grasp everything, but at least I have the resources to look at when I need to. How do you keep spanish going when you live in a place that predominantly english? Well I will have to go to a spanish speaking church or something.
My cousin came out from ontario today. He is from Ajax. He is staying with us because my dad is going to get him work up in Ft. Mac. It should be interesting living with 5 adults under one roof (mom and dad, Ryan 26, Shawn 26 and myself 28)!! And a teenager (16)!! YIKES. Anyways I know that they will (my brother and cousin Ryan) keep themselves away from the hose for the most part and I usually have a fairly busy schedule as well soo, hopefully it will not be to bad.

JUNE 11
WOW!! What a weekend jam packed full of information!! I just spent the last 3 days in Calgary at a Compassion Canada conference and it was AMAZING!! I am sooooo impressed with Compassion and what they do and how they are run and everything. I learned so much this weekend and I just hope that I can remember all the answers when asked the questions. I want to get out there so badly now and just Advocate my little heart out!! There is just soooo much that people do not know and SHOULD know about Compassion. All I want to do now is whatever I can for this organization. I know that I am biased, but now with all the info that I have, I have a right to be biased, and am now wondering why if you do not already sponsor a child or 2 or 10!!
GET TO IT!!

PS. This is my little Gabriela in Nicaragua. I also have a boy in Haiti, I do not have a picture of him in the computer yet.

JUNE 5
Phewph!! I am home from my first day/evening working at Costco. It was kind of fun, I got to see soooo many people that knew and that was fun too. My feet are pretty sore from walking on cement all day in bad shoes, I thought that I could make it through the day but now realize that I can't in the shoes I had on so I will wear different ones tomorrow and have insoles in them. I met a lot of people today too so that was good.

JUNE 4
Wow! Where has the time gone? Well, for all of those of you out there that care I have gotten a new job. I am now going to working at Costco here in Sherwood Park. I am pretty excited about that. Plus, someone has blessed me beyond what I could have imagined, I had hoped for but didn't think that it would happen. Anyways the big blessing is that someone offered to give me a car!! I am soooo excited and thankful to God for the person who has blessed me with this and it is such an answer to prayer. Now the only other thing on my list right now is to find a place to live. YEAH, God is truly good (not that I had any doubts!!). Well, I am going to sign off for now, untill next time my friends!!
Be Blessed!!

MAY 29
The end of the month is drawing near, I can hardly believe it! Well this past weekend was YC (youth conference) here in Edmonton and oh boy was it NUTS!! quite a few good bands there this year, Newsboys, Audio Adrenalin, Thousand Foot Krutch, Barlow Girl Chris Tomlin and many others. I was there with Compassion Canada and we had a great time getting kids sponsored!! At the final count there was 668 children sponsored!!! Yeah for all who attended and sponserd a child. Mind there will be some decions to return the child packets so there may not be quite that many in about a month or so, I will let you know when I know.
Hey just FYI a good song that I am totally in LOVE with right now
HALLELUJA by Bethany Dillion.

MAY 24
Tonight was my 3rd spanish class, it was fun but we learned a lot tonight. We learned the feminine and masculine words and plurals for each, plus we learned the months of the year, the days of the week, the seasons, and how to tell time. That is a lot to remember!! Anyways Christie and I had a few good laughs tonight in class and I was reading an article in Junes edition of Readers Digest and thought that I would share it with all.
According to experts, a child laughs between 200-400 times a day. Adults, a mere 15 times. We're not kidding and that's too bad. Laughter does your body good. In fact, if you're unable to exersize for whatever reason-illness, injury, sports bra's in the wash-laughter's not a bad substitute. Like exersise, it brings more oxygen into your lungs, lowers blood pressure, protect's your hearts lining from inflammation and boosts your immune system so viruses, bacteria and tumours won't get the best of you. Plus, when you laugh out loud, your abdomen and diapragm contract, your liver gets a massage, your facial muscles stretch and your back and shoulders unkink. It's like halph a day spa for your upper body and doesn't cost a cent!
Now if you ask me I think that I must laugh WAY more than 15 times a day, I am sure that because I am a kid person I find things to be funnier then most "normal" people would not find as funny. Anyways God too says that laughter is good, check it out

A ceerful heart is good medicine,
but a crused spirit dries up the bones.

In order to love anything you must first realize that you can lose it.
Seen on a sign in front of the United church by my house.
Thats it for this one I am too tired to write much more. Happy long weekend to you all (to all who get it!)

MAY 20
Well I was on such a roll with this when I first started and I am slowly seeming to forget to write. I have been keeping busy with my job though I do not enjoy it all that much. I was hoping to make this blog meaningful and full of deep thoughts and stuff but it is not turning out how I expected yet I do not mind it. I have one thing that I am going to put in, a poem. I LOVE poems and songs those are the things that speak to me the most. Anyways here is one for you all.
The river flows past
In a gentle cascade
And into the sunset
The river seems to fade.
I want to jump in
But don't know where it'll lead
A small voice says have faith
It's your voice I hear and heed.
I gentky step into the water
And immediately feel your peace
The tranquil water flows over me
My world seems to cease.
In the midst of your lovingkindness
I sit down in the stream
And as your warmth envelops me
You are there as if a dream.
You take my hand in love
And say walk with me a while
I confidently reach up to take it
As you look down at me and smile.

MAY 12
Well, I am sooooo glad it is friday. I am extremely tired today, I will be rested by tomorrow. I have to tell y'all about my birthday. I was in the process of writing on the 10th and was asked to 'help' Lori with something in the communications room at the church and found about 12-14 people in there with a birthday card and cake for me. It was so nice and I loved it but with all that attention on me I was very embarrassed. I was shaking. Then one of my friends took me for lunch, it was a little rushed in that she had to be back at a certain time but I always love going out and talking with this person. Plus the fact that Lori had planned this thing for me at the church, she is sooo awesome too. I am happy that there are people out there that love me, not that I really doubted it, but every once in while it is really good to hear and know. Then yesterday after work my mom, bro and sis went out to Capilano and I got a new pair of shoes, though I do need another pair, then today after work mom and I went out shopping as I had recieve a gift certificate for Michaels from the church staff. So I went and spent it easily though I wanted one of my friends to be there but I did not call her and did not wait, so I will shop with her some other time there. Well for all those who read that that were involved in my b-day THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and those who sent me cards and ecards I really appreciate the love, thanks to you all. HAPPY MAY!!

"Keep on loving each other as brothers (sisters). Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it."
HEBREWS 13:1-2
Can you imagine!! Entertaining angels, wouldn't that be AWESOME to know that you were in the presence of an angel, someone who has been close to God and walked in heaven. O man I can't even fathom that. I hope that if I ever have the privilage of being visited by and angel that they would tell me.

Monday, May 08, 2006

When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependance on Him, He will lift you up and give you honor.
James 3:10
I am trying to trust that God knows what he is doing with my life, and like most people I tend to think that I know better. Which is TOTALLY wrong but it is so hard sometimes, to be patient and wait or to be in a place that WE may not think is the right place and feel the need to move on. All I want to do is be in Gods plan and do what His will is but I do not know what that looks like for me. I pray about it and sometimes move in the direction that I feel is right only to find out that it was wrong or that I thought was wrong and got out as soon as I could. I am just still a little lost as to where I should be or if this is where I am supposed to be at this time. And to top it all off I am such a spontaneous person that a lot of the time I do not think before I do things and usually end up in trouble yet, God always seems to provide for me at the right time, you'd think that He would get tired of always rescuing me, but I am sure glad that He does! Good night and Blessings on all who read this.

MAY 6
"Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom."
Psalm 90:12
I have been wondering lately, HOW do we make the most of our time? What does that look like? Is that volunteering more, spending more time with friends and family, reading the Bible and spending more time with God? Maybe a bit of all of the above. But what happens when you can't do any of them and you have nothing to do? Pray? I guess that is good but is that making the most of our time, I guess I just do not understand. I wish that I could be a little smarter so that I can understand things better, I feel like most of the time I am not on the level that maybe I should be. I LOVE to learn and to make things understandable for me and get excited when it happens but there just seem to so many more things that I do not understand. Especially in the Bible and everything to do with it, I sometimes wish that I could just literally ask the questions that I need to and feel free to argue my point without feeling like I should know things by now. Plus, sometimes I just need time to pull together what I am trying to say because I am not all that great with talking as far as eloquence and being able to make my point understood. ANYWAYS, all that was just me, whatever. But I truly Pray that I am making good of my time and not wasting it on futile things, what is God going to say about my life when I actually see Him. What will he say about how I acted, or what or how I said things, or what I did or did not do with my life. As most people I hope that in the end he will say, Well done my GOOD and FAITHFUL servant. I am going to end with a song that I learned when I was little off of a Psalty tape that I had and I still LOVE this song and sing it sometimes.......
"Make me a servant, humble and meek
Lord let me lift up, those who are weak
And may the prayer of my heart always be....
Make me a servant, Make me a servant
Make me a servant, today....
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Mark 10:44

MAY 2
OMIGOSH!! I can hardly believe that it is the begnning of may already! I am having a real hard time at work in that they do not seem to have enough to keep me busy, I think I sat and did nothing for a good 3 hours today!! I hate not working!! I am thinking of finding another part time job and seeing if they want me only part time. Anyways I just thought that I would share with you all that one of my friends the other night called me DELIGHTFUL (hi Char!!) and that made me soo happy. I got to talk to another friend tonight that I haven't talked to in a long time (Cyndi Marie) and NADINA IS COMING HOME SOON have I mentioned that! I am very excited about that. I must go for now as I have another long day at work tomorrow and I have yet to write an email.

APRIL 30
Well it has been a few days since I last wrote. Not a lot has happened. I travelled to Calgary this weekend to see an aunt that I haven't seen in quite a while and that was good mind you I also had to see another aunt that I do not like very much. We travelled to Calgary on saturday afternoon and we came back sunday afternoon. I had to miss church and I HATED that. I did get to go to the farewell for our pastor and that was okay kind of sad but nice. I have made through a week of work and go for another week starting tomorrow. It is monotonous work but easy and sometimes boring, but I am sticking it out for now. I start spanish classes on May the 10 (my birthday) and I am REALLY excited about that, I get to take them from the U of A with my friend Christie. Plus I got to talk to Nadina today and that was soooooo fun for me, she is going to be going to the U of A in the fall and I can hardly wait to see her again. I am hoping to take some time off to see her this summer in BC but we'll see what happens. Well I also have a class at church for membership and that will be fun as well as a dentist appointment on the 3rd and then YC is the last weekend in May and that is soooo much fun too. Well it's late and I must work tomorrow so I am going to go for now.

APRIL 25
The essential meaning of prayer is that it nourishes the life of the Son of God in me and enables Him to manifest Himself in my mortal flesh.
O. Chambers
APRIL 24
When we go to our meeting with God, we should go like a patient to his doctor, first to be thouroughly examined and afterwards to be treated for our ailment. Then something will happen when you pray.
O. Hallesby
Today (the 24) I learned to drive a standard!! It was really a lot of fun, mind you I was just driving in a parking lot full of cars so I could not change gears past 2nd but it was still fun. I want to be able to drive on the road but, don't know if I'll be able to that any time soon. Anyways not much else to say.

APRIL 23
The strongest one in Christ's Kingdom is he who is the best prayer. The secret of success in Christ's Kingdom is the ability to pray. The one who can wield the power of prayer is the strong one, the ho;y one in Christ's Kingdom.
E. M Bounds
I give myself unto prayer.
Psalm 109:4
Today seemed like a good day but as I think back on the last couple of days I feel like I have maybe put myself in a position of disloyalty with one friend and I am unsure of the word I want but, I feel with another friend that I have put her off of maybe being able to talk freely without being judged. Which is totaly not what I set out to do. I LOVE my friends with all my heart and would defend them to the ground and would do anything for them. I may not love the things my friends do but I will always love them. Mind you I think if I approached one of my friends with a problem that I am seeing I know they will get on the defensive and get hurt and upset and well I do not know what to do with them. Now on the other hand I would really appreciate being told the truth, I am not afraid of the truth as long it is done in love and with pure motives. That is what I would do too, yet I am still not sure it would go over so well. This seems so fake as re-read this and yet I am so much like this and a lot of things I am still learning and trying to figure out how to put into practise. Well anyways todays sermon was really good, it was about being encouragers and talked about Barnabas whos name means 'Son of Encouragement' which is really cool. Hebrews 10:24
Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds.

APRIL 22
When we pray relying on the Holy Ghost, He will always bring us back to this one point, that we are not heard because we are in earnest, or because we need to be heard, or because we will perish if we are not heard; we are heard only on the ground of the atonement of our Lord.
O. Chambers
Last night we had a really good bible study. I was extremely tired as it was after my second day of work and I am still getting used to the work. It is fairly hard work but it is good hard work, mind you I do get to drive a lot and that is not the hard part. I get to drive lots of different vehicles, yesterday I got to drive this huge FORD F-350 and I did not like that to much it was WAY to big, I am enjoying driving the little Mazda 3 hatch back and would really like to look at buying one sometime in the future. Other than that I do a lot of sweeping the lot and just running back and forth and washing cars is going to be my duty for the next little while so that should be interesting. I am soooooo glad that summer is almost here, I LOVE the summertime and I hope that it will be a HOT summer as I get to be outside a lot. Well nothing else to exciting to report, signing off for now.

April 21
The greatest transmission of God's power takes place through the believer's prayers and intecessions. Believing prayer is unquestionably the means by which God, in the quickest way, would be able to give the world those saving powers from the realm of eternity which are necessary before Christ can return and the millenium be ushered in.
O. Hallesby

April 20
Prayer is a mighty force, an energy that moves heaven and pours untold treasures of good on earth.
E. M. Bounds
When they had prayed, the place was shaken.
Acts 4:31
Omigosh!! What a day! My first day on the job as a lot attendant. It was REALLY hard work but I feel good, tired but good. I got to drive a few vehicles 3 different cars into parking spots and 2 cars went to edmonton. I am tired but looking forward to tomorrow. I washed a couple of cars and raked and swept the lot, so needless to say I am going to feel it tomorrow. But on the plus side I should be pretty buff come the end of the summer, and tanned hopefully too. I got a bit of sun on my face today and will have to remember to put on sunscreen tomorrow. I can hardly wait cause I have bible study tomorrow too, so I am REALLY looking forward to that. Signing off for tonight!

APRIL 19
God engineers the circumstances of His saints in order that the Spirit may use them as the praying-house of the Son of God. If you are spiritual the Holy Spirit is offering up prayers in your bodily temple that you know nothing about; it is the Spirit making intercession in you.
O. Chambers
He ever livith to make intercession.
Hebrews 7:25
APRIL 18
It is a glorious thing to get to know God in a new way in the inner chamber. It is still greater and more glorious to know God as the all sufficient One and to wait on His spirit to open our hearts and mindswide to recieve the great things, the new things which He really longs to bestow on those who wait for Him.
A. Murray
Behold, I will do a new thing.
Isaiah 43:19
Tonight has been interesting. Went to Bible study to figure out where we want to go and how to get there for our group. I was feeling a little out of place as I have been involved with this group for a little bit and have found that I am feeling a bit displaced. Then I attend a singles group and have only been able to connect with one person and so therefore feel a little awkward there as well. I have never REALLY had a place that I have been able to feel comfortable in and feel like my feeling, thought, opinions count for something. It has just been in the last few weeks in my volunteer position that I feel like all is going well and now I have to step away from most of those duties. I am very saddened by that and if I was born into a wealthy family, I would most likely just volunteer for the rest of my life, especially in this church. I would LOVE to work in the church too, but at this point that is not an option that I have. Anyways back to Bible study I think that for the most part our group will be able to get off and running and it will be good. I think I will stick with it for awhile and yet I will still attend the single as well and see where that leads. AT this point it is made of so many personalities and places in life and backgrounds I am not sure where to start, but we have decided tha it has to start with some sort of community or group where trust can be built, same as the other group but we have a fairly good set up as far as our other group goes. Well it is late and has been a long day I must sign off for now.

APRIL 17
We cannot talk to God strongly if we have not lived for God strongly. The closet cannot be made holy to God when the life has not been holy to God.

APRIL 16
See to it, night and day, that you will pray for your children. Then you will leave them a great legacy of answers to prayer, which will follow them all the days of their life. Then you may calmly and with good concience depart from them, even though you may not leave them a great deal of material wealth.

Just got back from watching the movie Cassanova with a cool friend of mine. The movie was pretty cute, I liked it anyway. I was supposed to go for lunch over at an aunts, but I am not really feeling like being around a whole lot of family. Idon't really know why. Anyways, church last night and today was soooo coo and I really LOVE being in the choir. We have a beautiful wonderful, director, I can not say enough good about her, but that goes for all 4 of the people who work in the worship arts department at church. Well, JESUS IS ALIVE, Have a blessed Easter!!

APRIL 15
The greatest barrier to intercession is that we take ourselves so seriously and come to the conclusion that God is reserved with us; He is not. God has to ignore things we take so seriously until our relationship to Him is exactly that of a child.

Become as little children.

APRIL 14
Prayer introduced those who practised it into a world of privilege, and brought the strength and wealth of heaven down to the aid of finite man. What rich and wonderful power was theirs who had learned the secret of victorious approach to God!

What a beautiful day it is today here in Sherwood Park. The sun is shining and the grass is starting to turn green and there is not one bit of snow left on the ground anywhere. Today being Good Friday we had a Tenebrae (medevil latin, from the word tenebrae, DARKNESS) service at church, it was very cool. We sang some hymns, had communion and listened to scripture reading in the darkness and ended with the sound of nails being hammered and the tomb stone being rolled into place. Now this weekend we will have a celebration for all 3 services (S.P.A.C) to proclaim that HE HAS RISEN AND IS ALIVE!! I am really excited. I get to sing in the choir, what a blessing! Well I will leave you with this:
Luke 23:32-34, 39-43
"Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with him. Finally they came to a place called The Skull. All three were crucified there-Jesus on the center cross and the two criminals on either side. Jesus said 'Father, forgive these people, for they don't know what they are doing'"
"One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, 'So your the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself- and us, too, while you're at it' But the other criminal protested 'Don't you fear God even when you are dying? We deserve to die for our evil deeds, but this man hasn't done anything wrong.' Then he said 'Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom.' And Jesus replied, ' I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.'"
EASTER BLESSINGS ON YOU ALL!!!

For the Girls.....

Why God Made Little Girls
God made the world with towering trees, majestic mountains and restless seas. Then paused and said, "It needs one more thing... someone to laugh and dance and sing. To walk in the woods and gather flowers... to commune with nature in quiet hours." So God made little girls with laughing eyes and bouncing curls, with joyful hearts and infectious smiles, enchanting ways and feminine wiles. And when he'd completed the task he'd begun, he was proud and pleased of the job he'd done. For the world, when seen through a little girls eyes greatly resembled paradise.
